I’ve mentioned it before that MA is full of one off bands, many of which don’t deserve anyone to ever know they existed (kinda like this blog? Who said that?!!) On top of bands that just don’t have any release information, I would also think we should remove bands that don’t have at least either a Full-length, EP, or Split (which is like an EP?) to their names. Doing so can have the following results:

- Progressive moves up a slot
- Grindcore moves down 2 slots
- Metalcore moves up 2 slots (though this genre I think is generally underrepresented in this db)
- Groove moves down a slot
- Rock jumps up 2 slots
- Brutal moves down 1 slot
- Gothic moves down 1 slot
A lot of these moves seem to be mostly around similarly sized genres, so there doesn’t seem to be any particularly successful or lazy genre. I may still dis-include these bands in the future or at least do more comparisons. Even if it makes things run a bit slower.
